We started Software IT Services in 2017 with a focused thesis: small and mid-sized Metro Detroit businesses were getting overcharged for templated work and undersold on what their websites could actually do for them. The big agencies were chasing enterprise contracts. The cheap freelancers were disappearing after launch. Nobody was sitting in the middle.
So we sat in the middle. Custom design, real local SEO, transparent pricing, and we don’t disappear after launch. Eight years and 50+ projects later, the formula still works. The vast majority of our pipeline is referrals from past clients — that’s where the 98% retention number comes from.
The work has evolved. In 2017 we were mostly building websites and ranking them. By 2020 we were doing real local SEO at scale — the kind that gets a Birmingham medical practice to 892% traffic growth in six months or a Detroit HVAC company to #1 for 13 keywords. Around 2023 the AI automation work took off: AI receptionists for service businesses, RAG knowledge bases for law firms, lead-qualification chatbots for retailers. That’s now our fastest-growing service line.
